Hard work comes before weightlessness…

This means conception, development, manufacture, testing, analysis and much more. To achieve this we offer independent engineering together with the following support services:

  • Feasibility Studies
  • Mission/System Design and Analysis
  • Conceptual and Detailed System Design
  • Procurement and Supply
  • Acceptance, Integration, Verification & Test
  • Documentation in accordance with ECSS

Remotely Operated Aircrafts (RPA´s)

Space systems for Earth observation, navigation and communication provide indispensable support for operational, tactical and strategic tasks. We offer our knowledge and Best Practice industry experience to clients in the security and defense sector. Telecommunications is the focus of our actions.

Our work and efforts concentrate on the utilization of the newest data transfer technologies, such as laser communications and specialize in the field of Remotely Operated Aircrafts (RPA’s).

Laser Communication Systems

The link between a Ground Control Station and an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle is the key-component of every RPA-System. The success of future RPA operations will depend, amongst other factors, on the availability of the frequencies and bandwidth required to operate. The current use of the Ku-band for UAS mobile communications neither complies with ITU, nor is it regulated by national authorities. The constraints of the electromagnetic spectrum should, however, not determine the future of UAS employment.

A solution is offered by the use of optical frequencies. We therefore investigate, plan and implement laser communication systems for the following data transfer scenarios:

Our system solutions are based on the use of wave lengths between 0.5-1.5 μm, 1.064 μm and 1.550 μm. For reasons of speed and efficiency we rely on market place developments and use products from renowned manufacturers and system suppliers.

LONGTERM EXPERIENCE

We have gathered almost 30 years of experience in the field of aerospace engineering.

Wolfgang Griethe studied control engineering at the Technical University of Dresden where he received his doctorate in 1982.
His career in the space industry began in 1988 at Kayser-Threde GmbH, a medium-sized space systems firm in Munich.
He then worked for several years in various responsible positions, amongst others as project manager, department manager, division manager and finally as vice president.
After that he began to work as a the director of Aerospace & Defense at Berner & Mattner GmbH and eventually joined Tesat Spacecom GmbH & Co. KG as Head of Strategy in 2009.
Here he initiated the ALCOS program (Airborne Laser Communication System) for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles. His contribution is significant for their ongoing success.
Dr. Griethe is a member of the German Association for Defence Technology (DWT) and chaired the Munich division for several years.
